Toyota warranty

Below Toyota warranty terms, general expenses subject to owner’s liability and recommendations for regular service, will be described. Please read the following information carefully.

2. Short overview of Toyota warranty time and terms
General warranty - 3 years / 100 000 km *
Surface rust and coating warranty - 3 years
Body warranty - 12 years

3. Toyota detailed warranty terms

3.1. General warranty
Warranty covers all defects resulting from car production or assembly emerging in case of normal wear and tear within the period of 3 years or milage of 100 000 based on which criterion is met first, whereas during the first year there are no milage limits.

If the defect subject to warranty causes a breakdown due to which the vehicle loses mobility, the warranty will also cover the haulage of the vehicle into the nearest Toyota representation.

3.2. Surface rust and coating
All color defects due to the material or labor force used at manufacturing and also surface rust, irrespective of milage, shall be subject to a 3-year warranty.

3.3. Body guarantee
Corrosion holes in vehicle body due to material or manufacturing mistakes shall be subject to warranty, irrespective of milage, within the period of 12 years.

Under “body” all Toyota manufactured metal body parts, including engine cover, doors, luggage room cover and floor panel are meant; this does not cover parts attached to the body, like decorative profiles, bumpers and hinges.

4. Toyota general warranty terms

Who is the warranty provider?
Toyota guarantees that your vehicle has been manufactured in accordance with Toyota highest standards and it has passed a thorough test prior to delivery. The respective Toyota sales representative ensures its own inspection putting a stamp on the quality certificate check-lists of the present brochure.

Where are Toyota warranty requirements covered?
The warranty terms provided in the present brochure are valid in the following countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Island, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Holland and Great Britain.

If you travel to a foreign country not mentioned above, we will recommend you to contact your Toyota sales representative for additional information.

When will warranty enter into effect?
The warranty period will start from the date the vehicle reaches the first retail buyer.

Does one have to pay for repair work subject to warranty?
No. Your Toyota representation will perform all repair work subject to warranty, both for spare parts as well as payment, free of charge. Based on Toyota’s decision car parts will be subject to repair or replacement.


What are the warranty terms?
  • You have to ensure that the vehicle is serviced in accordance with the regulations and guidelines of the manufacturer, which have been provided in Toyota owner’s manual. In the opposite case the warranty of respective parts may lose its validity.
  • As an owner you will be responsible for reflecting car service also in the documents (warranty and service book).
  • At the appearing of a defect requiring warranty repair you have to take the vehicle to Toyota representation as quickly as possible. This prevents the deterioration of the problem. Also, there will be no need for a repair more extensive than initially anticipated.

Does the warranty also cover tyres?
Tyres are subject to separate warranty, which is provided by tyre manufacturer. Please ask for additional information from Toyota sales representation.

What will happen when I sell my Toyota?
Toyota warranty will automatically and free of charge be transferred to the next owners.


5. What Toyota warranty does not cover?
We offer you an extensive warranty package reflecting Toyota quality. Toyota warranty will cover the costs of elimination of defects due to manufacturing or assembly. Hence, warranty will not cover the following elements:

Normal wear
Normal noise, vibration, wear – for example bleaching or blinding of the color.

Service costs
Ordinary service work, for example engine regulation work, exchange of liquids and filters, lubricating work, cleaning and polishing, replacing of sparking plugs and fuse and worn out windscreen wiper rubbers, brake blocks and clutch friction covers. If the aforementioned repair work proves necessary as a part of warranty repair, warranty will extend to these too.

Vehicles with a changed odometer
Breakdowns occurring in vehicles which milage has been modified.

Redeemed vehicles or vehicles deleted from the register
Whichever vehicle is redeemed by a financial institution or insurer or deleted from the register.

Incidental damage
Incidental damage due to the breakdown of a vehicle or damage inflicted by this. This includes (the list is not complete) discomfort, transportation costs, costs incurred in relation to telephone and accommodation, use of private or company assets or loss of income.

Damages or breakdown directly or indirectly caused by the following external factors:

  • Fire, accident or theft.
  • Misuse (for example overloading of engine or vehicle, use at competitions) or negligence.
  • Repair work performed elsewhere than Toyota official representation.
  • Installation of other than Toyota genuine parts into the vehicle.
  • Changes or arbitrary improvements, including installation of non-Toyota genuine parts into the vehicle.
  • Inadequate service, including use of liquids not mentioned in owner’s manual.
  • Force Majeure
